Art Textbook Index

The works documented by the images contained in this website have been indexed according to their inclusion in a number of widely used undergraduate art history survey textbooks.

Each individual image page includes a Textbook Reference entry, showing where the represented work appears in each of the indexed textbooks. This information allows instructors and students to relate each AICT image to illustrations in the specific textbooks used by their institution. (Please be aware that, in accordance with copyright restrictions, the AICT images are not the actual textbook illustrations; rather, the user will find here very similar images documenting the same works, with variations such as details or alternative angles of view clearly noted).

It should be expressly understood by all users of this website that Art Images for College Teaching offers the images and information contained herein solely as a public service; AICT does not in any way wish to represent itself as acting on behalf of, or under the auspices of, the various textbook publishers.
